Our Mission & Purpose
To be a networking space for population scientists, Policy makers and all partners in population and development in order to promote research-based evidence for policy making and programmes in Uganda.
The Population scientists’ Association is established
To foster networking among persons and institutions and organizations engaged in the study and application of evidence on population and related fields in Uganda.
To stimulate interest in Ugandan population matters among national and international organizations, scientific bodies, and the general public in Uganda.
To develop and promote scientific capacities for undertaking research and studies dealing with population and development issues in Uganda.
To undertake research from time to time on population and related matters as may be required. Provide a platform for intellectual exchange in population studies among researchers, academics and all interested parties.
To support Governmental and Non-Governmental Institutions in the undertaking of Data collection and analysis activities.
To facilitate the dissemination of research and other information on the Ugandan population through activities such as scientific meetings, conferences, and publications of
the Journal of Uganda Population issues.
To further the scientific study of population and related fields in Uganda.
To undertake or engage in such activities as may be deemed necessary and expedient for the promotion and enhancement of the association’s goal and objectives.
